so...would this be like automatic rejection or what??

I have nothing against DO's obv...that's why I have a LOR from one. But I keep hearing that I should not send a LOR from a DO to allo schools. Any thoughts?

I'm no expert on this, but i would think that it depends. I doubt it would matter much, maybe if you get unlucky. However, if the DO worked at an affiliated hospital or held a faculty position at the allo school, that would probably be much better than an LOR form an MD in a non-affiliated position. Other than that you should probably have more than one LOR anyway so as long as they aren?t all from DO's you should be ok.

You should definitely send your DO letter. I sent my DO letter to all MD schools. I received many interviews and a few acceptances. My interviewer at Georgetown was a DO even though I was rejected post interview. It will only help you if it is a good letter.

One of the profs who wrote me a recommendation is a DO.
