DO LOR

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
LOR are supposed to be recommending you to the school..not a marketing letter for your doc 😵

Terrible ideas!!!
The letter should talked about your quality... Not his ability to train future medical students lol

@lnguyen1412 haha yeah. he just told me he'll do whatever he can to try to get me into medical school. A great guy.

Ohh, if his goal is to get you into medical school, then write about your character. Especially emphasizing that you are a compassionate and empathetic person, etc etc. Also add that you are a hard worker and he can see you contribute very positively to the medical community. Or something along those lines. Hope that helps 🙂

BUT, you have to tell him NOT to write about how he will let people train there or whatever. Have him ONLY talk about you

How much weight does a DO LOR carry? My doctor told me that he will write me a letter of rec saying that he's willing to train some of the medical students/residents if they consider accepting me. Is this even possible? Just wondering lol.

OP, if you were on the admissions committee and had an applicant who sent in a LOR like the one you've mentioned would you accept him/her?

@ctran019 if I was a newly established medical school, I could possibly. But like I said, I doubt that he will blatantly say "accept him and I will teach your students"
