Do lower stat applicants get interviews later on in the cycle?

Would it be reasonable to say that lower-stat applicants (<510, <3.7) tend to get interview invites later on in the cycle? It seems to be the trend that higher stat applicants receive interviews first, so was wondering if this seems to be generally true across schools? I'm sure there are different factors for each school, but is this usually the trend? Asking for MD schools only btw.

Probably…? Maybe…? Who knows. Maybe some schools look at IS first.

I do think it’s possible. For example, I consider myself a mid-stat applicant, and I submitted my primary first day and was verified 3 days later in 5/30. I turned around all my MD secondaries before August and haven’t heard back yet from most schools, though it is so early still.

I'll be the first to admit that in a business where the admissions office gets blamed for any 0.01 drop in GPA or MCAT average with the incoming class, we will (or better) evaluate (not necessarily interview) the high-metrics applicants first. However, many schools have alternative methods to identify desirable mission-fit applicants and grant some flexibility to preferred in-state applicants who may have lower metrics. It's true for any and all professional schools.
