Not too impressed from the best DO school in the world.
I never understood why people fall in love with PCOM. It is a great school, but I don't feel it is any different from the other great DO schools.

...thats why we love it so much.I think it's overhyped since most of the SDNers that help the pre-meds are from PCOM (ie: JPH, Maximus, DO_Sigma, medhack, JonnyG). They keep emphasizing that the oldest school is the best because of the long standing reputation. But, in my opinion, the school is only a gateway while the student is the key to the lock (residency). The question is can YOU unlock into John Hopkins and Mayo? The school won't do it for you.
In addition, I think NYCOM might have a better match result. A couple of students (from the 2010 thread) have pointed out the following:
psychiatry, nyu
ophthalmology, pcom and howard
neurosurgery, LIJ and somewhere in michigan
anesthesia, st lukes roosevelt and downstate
pm&r, nyu
pediatrics, LIJ schneiders and rochester
EM, st barnabas bronx and good sam
general surgery, pcom and wyckoff
orthopedic surgery, peninsula
obgyn, st barnabas new jersey
FP, christiana care delaware and georgetown
radiology, st barnabas bronx, yale <- 😱
I updated the LECOM-Bradenton list, for anyone that's interested.

Very interesting list, very interesting school. Acquainted with several 4th years through one way or another. Heard a lot of things.
Can you be a little more vague please?

PCOM's match list also does not include people who signed outside the match (allopathic match).
This is kind of old news by now (dated March 24) but here's an article about the recent match: http://www.medpagetoday.com/PublicHealthPolicy/PublicHealth/tb/8883
Here's an interesting quote:
...Osteopathic medical graduates are the second most preferred class of applicants after graduates of U.S. allopathic programs... osteopathic graduates are increasingly participating in the allopathic match program so they can get into dually accredited programs. Nevertheless, ...most osteopathic physicians still go through their own match program.
Seeing as CCOM's website is impossible to navigate, I have taken the liberty of spending 1 hour and 15 minutes finding the spot where the match list will be posted ... at some point in the future.
Here it is:
http://mwunet.midwestern.edu/academic/CCOMClinEd/studentArea.htm
Do the majority of DO's go for DO residencies?
I thought the majority landed in MD residencies these days..
Like what was mentioned previously, matching into a great program coming from an osteopathic school is more dependent on the student's application, as opposed to the osteopathic school they come from.
Traditionally, NYCOM's graduates are 50/50 regarding osteo vs allo residencies. In addition to the list already posted regarding NYCOM's match list, here are some more allopathic match results that I know of (based on who showed up at the Match Party):
Maimonides Peds (4)

All you SCHMUCKS talkin smack about PCOM need to recognize. We had matches in some of the most competitive fields in ALLOPATHIC programs:
Anesthesia (7)
ENT (1)
Ophtho (2)
Rads (5)
Not "ophtho" at Podunk osteopathic general hospital in North Dakota.
So listen up! PCOM rules. 'Ya got that? Good.
