alrgiht, heres the thing. Im not sure about taking the mcat this saturday. I think almost everyone on the mcat board is headed for an md school so i would appreciate some advice from the do's over here. I have a 3.3 cum and about a 3.4 sgpa. My practice scores range in the 20-25 range. Ive already taken the stupid beast in april and i did awful (i got an 18) but the thought of pushing it back until next april is almost sickening to me. Is there any chance i could get a 22 or 23 and still be considered by ad-coms. i have decent shadowing experience/research/ec's and all that good stuff.
Thanks for the help.

Homie, most people score a little lower on the actual test compared to the practice ones. Of the exams you took, how many were towards the 20 count and how many towards the 25 count?

1-20
2-22
2-24
2-25

I disagree that most people score lower on the real thing. I would say that most people score right at what they were practicing and plus or minus 2-3 points. Some people really make a nice jump for the real thing.

To the contrary, homie, many of the practice tests for TPR, EK, Kaplan omit a lot of the "easier" questions on their tests and therefore people in general score higher on the actual exam. The AAMC tests seem to be the most predictive (+/- 1-2pts) of ones actual score. Take a look at the MCAT forum to confirm that.

Just to backup what sunabarn said, I too have seen this mentioned multiple times for people who actually took the MCAT. Its all through the MCAT threads.
