Hey everyone, I'm new to SDN and appreciate any comments/replys yall put up. Great site btw.
So the stats.. I started off at the University of Texas as a biomedical engineering major, but graduated with a B.S. in BioChem. Didn't do very well though, gpa - 3.0. Science gpa is just a bit better - 3.2.
After graduation I spent ~two years doing neuroscience research with a couple labs at the university. Through that, I've published three abstracts, authored three posters that were presented at conferences, and one journal article (no primary authorships).
In undergrad I shadowed a radiologist for a summer. Have some misc charity work/races and community involvement, etc.
Now I'm doing an MSc in Biology at University College London. The thesis is researched based so will be getting a bit more experience in that dept. Done MUCH better with grades as a postgraduate- not sure how much notice they'll take of it though.
I took the MCAT jun year of college and got a 32, but the score has expired now. So I'm currently studying and will be taking it again late this summer.
I feel confident with my LORs and the personal statement aspects of the application.
As far as applications, I know I'm gonna apply to some Texas schools and I don't mind wasting time and money on a couple 'dream' schools (I have to atleast take a stab at it). In the realm of a realistic shot... I'm kinda lost. Any suggestions for allopathic schools?
Thanks again!
