Do medical school classes intermingle or does your medical school have more of a segregated environment? I am sure it is quite common, for an example, for a MS-1 to connect with a bunch of MS-2s, but how common is it for a MS-1 to be friends with a good number of MS-4s?

Happens a bit, but med school as a whole is pretty insular. When people say it's like high school over again, they're exactly right. Your life rarely overlaps with the other classes.

My first-year class intermingles a fair amount with second-years. I'd say most first years have some second year friends, groups of them come to many of our parties and vice-versa, we go out to local bars together/at same time, second years and first years live together (by assignment), etc. However, It's still mostly separated by nature since people become close and do things most often with their own classmates.

Third years are too busy to mingle with first years (unless they live together by chance), and fourth years are off doing their own thang.

Beastinfection - if you don't mind me asking, where do you go to med school?
