Do most schools interview on Mondays and Fridays?

I really hope some of them would think of interviewing on Saturdays...some profs aren't really nice about the missing class part of this. Oh yes, and moving tests/assignments is always a pain.

It's not the best thing in the world interviewing on Saturdays. Yes, you don't have to miss school or work but you really miss out on seeing the school in its full swing. I find that to be disappointing.

They interview and Mondays and Fridays to allow their AMCAS verification departments the maximum amount of time to check up on all of your listed extra-curricular activities and awards. As this involves a lot phone calls and theses departments are understaffed, you can imagine the difficulty of verifying everything if they only had a day between groups of applicants.

Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, and Sun are all good for me... Just trying to schedule all my "attendance required" classes on Tue and Thur. Some professors lowers our overall score by 5% (or more) for one missed lecture, and I can't imagine them being accepting if we do end up having to miss multiple classes.

im gnona talk to all my profs at the beginning of the semester and if any of them are unaccepting of me going on interviews im just gonna drop their class. screw em!

Yeah my p-chem prof is going to be a pain with attendance. His policy is 1% off for each class missed but its a MWF class which definately means I will be missing class. Its the last class I need for my major and is only offered in the fall, so it looks like me and my professor are going to have a long talk. I know last year he let some guy video tape his class without any deductions, so hopefully I can swing that!

Man you people must go to small universities. At maryland, you skip a class there's no point deductions or anything. Its exams and problem sets and thats it. Except labs, can't skip those unless you're friends w/ the teacher.

my school is big but my BME program only has about 50 kids left going into our senior year... teachers wouldn't care if we skipped either but we have lots of tests on fridays and mondays

I have a Wednesday Interview at Wayne State. U Pitt offers mid-week interviews as well. I know Michigan offers some occasional Saturday interviews, so it's possible, but the majority of the rest of my interviews are on Fridays. I know what you mean about missing classes though. I'm having a hard enough time planning interviews around my job and ECs, let alone classes. Scheduling interviews without seeing my course test schedules has been quite unfortunate. Here's to hoping I pass my classes this term...

That's right, he is Dean now! I hope he still does senior project for your class...he was a pain at first, but he really got us to do nice presentations at the end.

With 50,000+ students and a whole myriad of courses offered, I think one can imagine a whole range of grading systems used by different professors.

Hi,

My school (CCLCM) interviews on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I haven't ever heard of a school that has Saturday interviews. The best thing to do when you're interviewing is to try to cluster them so that you only have to travel to that city once. So for example, if you applied to both the main Case program and CCLCM, you can do the two interviews one after another, say on Monday-Tuesday or Thursday-Friday. That way you only have to come out here to Cleveland once. There are a lot of cities with more than one medical school, so try to schedule your interviews back to back like that if you possibly can to save time and money.
