At the interview schools tell us stats and this list is semi inaccurate.
There is no better source. DO schools are horrible at giving numbers.Ohh, sorry. It's just something I found from looking through sdn. Would you happen to know of a better source? I know some of these stats are from a few years ago

Thanks everyone. I've read that whole packet. It is basically issues in comparison to msar. I think I'll be pretty competitive for DO so I'll probably focus on price and location, but I would sure be frustrated with this process if I weren't as competitive.
Thanks. I've been thinking about AZCOM, Touro Nevada, both Westerns, pnwcom, and rocky Vista as a Utah resident. 29 mcat, 3.7+ gpa's. Does that seem like a reasonable list to start? I don't know all the abbreviations... SorryPrice/ location/ curriculum/ in state out of state (hard to get into out of state public schools and its expensive. This is tcom osu msu oucom rowan to a lesser degree and doesn't really include WVSOM). Quality of rotations / match list (when looking understand its hard for a pre med to interpret
You should have a good shot at AZCOM but its a tad expensive. Its a good school but price is approaching 60.Thanks. Thanks! DMU is actually a top choice that I didn't mention and my wife's family is from there so I think that would help. You should have a good shot at AZCOM but its a tad expensive. Its a good school but price is approaching 60.
Western LA @AlbinoHawk DO complains about the insane amount of OMM there (in his words more then other schools). I can't speak to it but it is a good school I'd you wanna stay in LA.
Touro Nv PNW RVU and the other western are all newer. RVU has been looking pretty good but they all get the job done. Definitely apply. pNW is very northwest biased though in admission. You should consider touro ca, kcumb, and atsu soma arizona.
If you want to add a school on the east coast I think DMU and PCOM are great for the money.

I wouldn't use the word insane, but the average school has 2 hours a week and we have double that. On top of that, we have an entire week of just cranial every day (no science or other stuff) during 2nd year and a forced 3rd year OMM rotation.Western LA @AlbinoHawk DO complains about the insane amount of OMM there (in his words more then other schools). I'm at WesternU/COMP and yes; we spend a lot of time on OMM here, including a full 40-hour week on cranial and a mandatory third-year rotation (which you can do in a lot of different places including Hawaii). I like OMM so I don't mind it but if your main goal is to minimize your OMM training, consider other schools.Yeah, that's rough. I don't know if it would be enough to make me not go to a school, but a week full of cranial during 2nd year and a mandatory rotation devoted to it sounds terrible.

Trust me, It's not just that. It's how unreasonable the entire curriculum is. The way things are set up here are to make the school look good for the public at the cost of the students. Here's an example: Last week we had a lecturer give us a 20 page document on cancer drugs over 2 hours of lecture. At the same time, the school made us waste 2 hours in interprofessional learning where we just sit down and talk about some random made up case. The case was about a kid with autism and his mom that was in denial. It's not even diagnosis but just opinions on what we thought about her actions. This is just one example.Yeah, that's rough. I don't know if it would be enough to make me not go to a school, but a week full of cranial during 2nd year and a mandatory rotation devoted to it sounds terrible.

How did people get the comp nw numbers?
I didn't know they started splitting them. Before they just averaged both classes into one number. The GPAs are pretty close, but the average mcat is now a 28 http://prospective.westernu.edu/osteopathic-nw/competitive-16/
I guess some of the data that I posted isn't as accurate as I thought it was. Either way, I'd advise people to make a list of schools they would be interested in and look up the data for each school on their own. I guess they could use this list as a way to see which schools are generally more competitive, but for the most up to date data just go to their website and find it.
