So I'm writing the Personal Characteristics essay and it just seems to flow much better if I combine my concluding paragraph with my second paragraph. Will adcoms dislike/think I don't know how to write if I submit an essay with two paragraphs?

Mine was 5 paragraphs. I followed the format I learned all through my education. Introduction, 3 paragraphs that support/elaborate what I said in my introduction, and conclusion.

Tbh, I really don't see how a good PS would be only 3 paragraphs long. You either have too long of paragraphs or you didn't write enough.

I completely agree on the PS, and mine is 5 paragraphs as well. My optional essay is only about 400 words though (near the limit) which isn't long at all though. Doesn't seem long enough for three paragraphs.

What does personal characteristics essay entail? I don't remember every parts of the application that completely.

"Please describe your personal characteristics (background, talents, skills, etc.) or experiences that would add to the educational experience of others." The limit is 2500 characters.
I really don't think I have enough material to write a good, longer essay about it so I only have 2000 characters. (It's required in Texas this year which is why I'm doing it)

For stuff like that, you don't need a paragraph format. Just write stuff in a list format like you would do in a resume.

Where are you guys getting this essay information? I didnt have this when I applied

It's for the Personal Characteristics ESSAY. You bet your booty it needs to be in paragraph format.

The question that was he copied and pasted from his essay doesn't specify it should be an essay, unless he omitted a part of the question for some reason.

Hey darren, you say there's an optional essay. I never heard of this before. I thought only a personal statement could be submitted. What typically goes in the optional essay?

He copied and pasted the prompt of the "Personal Characteristics Essay" in the Essays section of the TMDSAS.

To OP, if the PS limit of 5000 characters is about 5 paragraphs, it makes sense that the 2500 character essay would only be 2-3 paragraphs. If you really think it flows best in 2 paragraphs, go for it. I'd recommend having a few people read it and give their opinions on the matter though.

It's peculiar that you had to go out of your way to find a gif to formulate a response. Anyway, if that's how it is with TMDSAS, good advice for OP.

Even if it doesn't say "essay", the word "describe" pretty much tells you that they want it written out. If it said "list" then you would list those things.
