Do my science grades seem too low or concerningly bad for this path?

Attended T20 public university.
  • sGPA for MD schools - 3.56 or 3.62 depending on which classes count towards math LOL
  • sGPA for DO schools - 3.74
  • Cumulative GPA - 3.81
  • AO GPA (DO) - 3.82
  • AO GPA (MD) - 3.95
  • MCAT - Have never taken it
I am ORM, a woman, and non-traditional.

My state's very competitive and does not really favor in-state residents. I am missing pre-reqs and will need a postbacc for the rest.

Do you think I have a shot at decent MD schools (AKA anything that is not California Northstate)?

Also, what if I were capable of raising my science GPA to 3.84 for MD (my cumulative would be 3.89) and got a decent MCAT? Would I have a chance at a CA med school? It's just wishful thinking at this point but you know lol a girl can dream
Most CA applicants (however well-qualified) must leave the state for medical school: https://www.aamc.org/media/6016/download?attachment
It takes more than stats!

Well, the honest answer is that a lot depends on your MCAT score.
Medicine is a profession that involves a LOT of test taking. You will need to take Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Step 2 CK, pass boards, get re-certified, etc. etc. as I'm sure you know. Medical schools want students who will make them look good by scoring high on standardized tests, so that they can publish how many students scored in X range...

Your GPA is great. Good job getting that high GPA.

What do your ECs look like? A lot will depend on the rest of your application.
