Hi everyone!

I just graduated from UMD. My Cumulative GPA is a 3.3 but my science GPA is a 3.1. I know neither are competitive or good. My MCAT was a 485 (really bad ik). I only have like 90 clinical hours. I don’t know if I should do a post-bacc program or just retake classes at a CC. I got into touro-online post-bacc but they don’t offer a MCAT program. I would start this program September 2nd if I accept. I don’t know if I should accept touro, apply to other postbaccs, or retake classes I got bad grades in at a CC while focusing on getting a good MCAT score and increasing clinical hours. Please help. My parents are paying for my post-bacc or CC but we’re not millionaires and the post-baccs are expensive.

Oh also, the program would end in May. If I accept, I don’t know when I would take the MCAT or do clinical.

You can do a DIY post bacc at a local college (community college is fine). Take science courses you have not previously taken in order to increase your sGPA. You will also need to retake the MCAT but do not retake until your practice scores are consistently 500+. Since your MCAT was only 485, you will need to do a lot of studying and likely will not retake until spring 2026. Post your new score here when available.

If my science GPA is 3.1, how many classes do I need to take
