Hi,
I just finished my freshman year and I am transferring to another school for my sophomore year.
My first semester I had a 4.0, my second semester I had a 3.5, I got 3 B's, which brought my cumulative down to a 3.79. It just so happens that the classes that I got the B's in do not transfer to my new school.
The classes were Calc II, Gen. Bio Lab II, and English. I will be retaking these classes with a few differences; Statistics instead of Calc II, new school doesn't have Gen. Bio. Lab II, and a writing course instead of Literature.
How will adcoms look at this? Will they take the grades from my old school? Or will they be discounted since technically they are not even a part of my degree? And since they didn't transfer, does this mean my cGPA is technically a 4.0 now?
EDIT: Oh and I'm transferring from one 4 year to another if that matters.
