First of I would like to say congratulations to everyone who received an acceptance. Unfortunately I was wait listed on this “D-day”. I wanted to ask if anyone from past cycles of applying has had any experience with my situation. Did you send an email or letter reiterating your interest for the school?
I have heard that most people who are wait listed have to wait a 45 day period to give the acceptance recipients a chance to respond or put down a deposit. Is this true?

What school were you waitlisted at? Certain OOS, private schools have a high rate of acceptance on their waitlists since people tend to accept at in-state dental schools because of tuition etc...

I was wait listed at Meharry. I never thought of it that way so that puts me at ease somewhat.
Thank you for your input.

what was said before.

It depends on the school. If its your in state school you have a lot less chance of getting in. Sorry.
I was waitlisted last year for my in state school and normally in state schools dont have a lot of activity on their waitlist. People obviously want to go to their in state dental school

Dont lose hope though. Anything can happen. I am of the opinion that there is really no rhyme or reason to acceptances. They probably sit in a room and roll the dice.

Two years of applying has made me jaded.
