Hi,
I'm a grad student and am thinking of applying to DO or MD school. My question is that is it requirement that I shadow a DO in order to qualify to apply and get into DO school? Also, I intend to practice outside of the states so is a DO degree internationally recognized as a professional physicians or no? If so, which countries recognizes it? thanks

It is always a good idea to shadow a DO and get a LOR from a DO before you apply to a DO school. Not all DO schools require it, though. However, many do. There is a post somewhere about which countries recognize a DO (many do), do a search for it and it will come up.

Good luck!
