Hi everyone! I am just looking for some insight that I haven't found a thread on, so I am just going to ask!
Do Optometry schools reward reinvention? I am seriously considering a career in Optometry and I want to go to OD school. My only worry is that, in my current program, I have had 3 Fs and one D... Do schools reward reinvention? I am not in my bachelors program and I have had a strong upward trend since those Fs, but I am still worried that I won't be able to get to a good OD program (my dream school is NOVA), so yeah.

optomCAS takes into consideration the last grade taken in the class. So, if you re-took the classes you got the F's and D's, it will calculate in your GPA the latest grade you got. That being said, do prepare to explain those grades once you are granted an interview. Focus on having a good overall and science GPA along with a good OAT score so you can have a better opportunity at getting interviewed.
