Do parking/speeding tickets count as "institutional action"?

lol no or else i probably wouldn't be accepted with the amount of parking tickets i got at my school.

This is just like asking: "Will medical schools read my text messages?"

Answer: No 🙂

Hi, just wondering, do I need to list parking/speeding tickets as institutional action? I would appreciate any knowledge!

No need to report parking tickets or misdemeanor speeding tickets. I believe, though, that FELONY speeding convictions do have to be listed on your application.

Just as an aside, I seem to recall that "Institutional Action" referred to penalties given to you by your school. There is a separate section for legal records, which is what you seem to be referring to.

I think OP is referring to parking tickets given by a school. However, the answer is still no.

Is your university the one writing you these parking/speeding tickets?

Nope. IAs are far more serious and will show up on your transcript.

At my undergrad institution, if you had parking tickets on school property, you would not be allowed to get a parking pass in the future. That's as far as it went.

I was one of the first interviewees at a rolling admissions medical school. The dean estimated the chance of admission for our interview group to be at least 80% (and dropping for each successive interview group as the year progressed).

I was a little discombobulated on my way to the school that morning and forgot to buy a guest pass in the university parking lot while I was at my interview. When I got back to my car that afternoon there was a university parking ticket on my car, and a fine of $25 which I paid when I got home.

Result: waitlisted, and eventually rejected 🙁

Thanks for the answers. Seems like it's not a big deal.
