wait for secondaries/interviews for a long time only because they don't send in their materials early? You know, although they say the deadline is Month X, they recommend that you send them much earlier... or is that not even a factor with schools that have no rolling admissions?

In my opinion it is a great advantage to have your stuff in as early as possible.

Some people (myself included) do not hear from certain schools because some schools just are not interested and never let you know that. The only way to find out is to contact them.
