I am very interested in the DO-PhD program. Which shools offer that degree. How competetive is it to get into the program? Please share any information you have about this topic. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

DO/PhD programs exist, I believe, at:

Michigan State Univ. COM
Ohio Univ. COM
Midwestern Univ. Chicago COM

I can't comment on exactly how difficult these programs are in terms of admissions, but they've got to be pretty tough. The DO/PhD programs are supposed to churn out osteopathic physician scientists who will add to the scientific base of the DO profession (something that is DESPERATELY needed). But I'm not sure exactly how popular DO/PhD programs are, or if anyone has taken the bait on investigating some of the science behind OMM.
