Do pinstripes make a black suit acceptable?

I have two suits, one is navy with pinstripes, the other is black with close-spaced narrow pinstripes. I know the navy one is always okay, but if I send it to the cleaner's can I get away with the black one for a couple interviews? gyngyn, you're the toughest person here to please on fashion, so I'm especially interested in your opinion.
