Do post-interview letters of interest matter?

Are they really that important (before hearing back from the school - i.e. not on a waitlist yet?). And what kind of thins do people put in an interest letter? Are they worth sending if I have nothing new to tell the school (no application updates?)

I don't know if they help, but I doubt they hurt. If you are being genuine, send one.

If the school allows it, there is no harm in sending one. If you look back through the threads, someone posted an example LOI.

One of the George's almost requires it, and I know Tulane encourages it in some of their post-interview literature.
