Applied last year, reapplying this year. Wondering if reapplying will hurt my chances or if med school look at my file differently, knowing that I applied last year.

Other than looking to see what you have done since your application last year (should have upgraded something) and comparing your application (if you applied to the same schools), you are in the same boat. Upgrade everything that is under your control because you are in stiffer competition not lesser. If you didn't meet the criteria for disadvantaged status last year, you are not disadvantaged this year.
