I'm mid-PhD and I signed up for a class I absolutely don't need to graduate but forgot to switch to P/F until after the deadline. I thought I'd get something useful out of it, but it's been pretty uninformative and I'm thinking about just skipping it the rest of the year to focus on labwork and sliding by with a mediocre grade.

I'm already funded through an F30 until the end of my MD/PhD. Will residencies see grades from a PhD (or any other degree), and do they care at all?

Nobody cares about what grades you got in courses that aren't part of the MD. Maybe they'll ask about it but more out of curiosity than it actually mattering. Unless it's something like Ethics in Medicine in which case that will raise a red flag.
