Hello Everyone!

I've looked up a few schools regarding their DAT requirments but i couldn't find if they average DAT scores or if they only accept the highest score? I have my exam scheduled in 10 days but i do not feel confident about it. I don't know if i should cancel my appt an dpay again (my year is expiring on the 20th) or take it and risk having to retake it. If they average the two then i would risk losing the money. Ahhhh

Can anyone inform on this topic?!

Thanksss

i was under the impression that it was most recent, not highest. i have no evidence for it though, so hopefully someone can shed some light.

UCLAzy, is correct for all the schools I spoke with. I believe pretty much all the schools consider your most recent score.

Yeah they definitely only do the most recent one. But they might bring up the other in interviews..haa

I doubt they put on blinders and only look at the most recent one (except for perhaps initial ranking of applicants). Just like with grades, they look at all of your scores and see the trend.

I ordered the Official ADEA 2012 book and it depends on the schools. In the book it specifies which schools do what. For instance, very few schools average the scores... most schools take the most recent scores, while others take the highest set of scores. 🙂

I think they mostly take the most recent score. I took twice and that is what they did. A few schools said they'd take the highest from each section. In any case my re-take was really good so I wasn't worried.

UNLV is the only school I know that takes the highest score from each section, but I only researched 10 or so schools. By the way-though I doubt anyone feels completely ready to take the DAT, I wouldn't take it unless you are scoring near 20 in all sections. It is definitely worth the money to postpone.
