Do schools contact LOR writers?

I'm just wondering if schools ever need to contact our LOR writers? One of my evaluators wrote me a letter for my non-science prof letter for UNLV and she just emailed wanting to know if she will be contacted because she will be gone for a while and won't be checking emails, etc.

I don't think the schools will contact your brother regarding your letter of rec... but don't quote me on that.. i could be wrong.. LOL 😕 jk
