How common is it for schools to scrutinize your old application in addition to your new one? I assume that they will compare them to see if you made any significant improvements, but do they go back over everything from the year before carefully?

The reason I'm asking is because I made a mistake last year on my secondary application. I reported a date wrong. I corrected it this year, but if they go back and look at my secondary from last year, then compare it to my new application, the dates will be slightly inconsistent. It's a very small and insignificant mistake, but I don't want to raise any eyebrows. How worried should I be? I don't want to make an issue of it if I don't have to.

Yes, old applications might be scrutinized, but they aren't going to microanalyze it when there are thousands of Primaries to get through. If anything, they'd likely check to see if the PS is different, the cGPA higher, the MCAT better. Honest mistakes are no big deal anyway. Stop worrying.
