Do schools really care about SES status if you aren't a URM?

Title is question basically. Does SES even matter if you aren't a URM? There's no graphs or stats showing SES based acceptances like there is for racial stats, so i'm just pretty curious.

I see lots of SMP programs that target SES students, but I don't feel like I see those same attempts addressed on many MD or DO websites.

In my n=1 experience, SES does matter even if you are ORM because it shows you can still get good grades/MCAT despite significant hardships.

I would say this is dependent on the school mission and SES "type". If you're from a rural community made of mostly of low SES individuals then this could carry some weight at schools with "serving the underserved" and "serving rural populations" in their mission statements. The same could hold true for being from low SES inner-city. I milked the fact that I was from a rural low SES area in my personal statement and secondary essays for all it's worth, and I believe it paid huge dividends for me this cycle.
