Do schools send out invite in december?

Hi, just cusious what's the schedule of adcom in thanksgiving/christmas. Do they basically stop working for most of december?

It's really quite variable from school to school; if you're wondering about a specific school, you might look at last year's Application thread (archived in School Specific Discussions, but closed; you can probably find it if you use the search function in that forum) to see if any invites went out around that time. Last year's Interview Invites thread might also be helpful, which you can find linked in the Application Sticky at the top of this forum.

They probably send out invites in December but schedule them in January.

Generally as long as the school is open the admissions board is sending out invites.

Me too. An acceptance before Christmas would make the holidays so much more enjoyable.

I wonder if around the holiday season Admissions Committees wait till after the new year to send out rejections. That would certainly sour my holiday break.
