Do schools take your grades into consideration from this fall?

For people that have applied in September and are currently taking classes, do the schools that you applied to factor those grades into your admissions decision? I was assuming that by the time I get my grades for this semester and send it to them, they will likely have either made a decision or be close to it? One of the classes that I am taking is biochemistry and am a little nervous that the B that I am anticipating in biochemistry will negatively impact my chances.

This is highly dependent on the individual school and their how their admissions timeline is laid out; there are quite a few that won't make decisions until well into next year and a lot of them do take fall grades at least somewhat into account.

I would peruse the websites for the schools you're applying to. Most of them have a statement on fall grades and how and if they're evaluated. If you can't find anything, then contact the schools directly and ask.

ETA that I also honestly don't think that one B is going to significantly impact your chances of acceptance either way if your transcript is otherwise solid. Definitely aim for higher if you can, but it's not worth fretting over. A B is still a good grade.

Thanks for your reply! I'm a bit obsessive about my grades (then again, I know the majority of us on here are) so I'm hoping that one grade won't impact my chances as I applied with a 3.95 GPA but anxiety likes to get the best of me!
