Do schools verify your EC's?

Hey all, quick question. Will schools try to verify your EC's on your app? Don't worry, I am not going to lie about my EC's! Lol the reason I ask is that one of the organizations I volunteered with may not be in operation when I send my app in next summer, so I was just wondering if schools would try to verify this? Or would I be better off just leaving it off my app?

I'd say just write it, and give the supervisor's number if it asks for it. But it generally doesn't. Also, they ask what dates you were volunteering/working there, so if it doesn't say "present", I don' t think it should be a big deal. But you'll only have space for 9 ec's I think, so obviously figure out which ones you think are more important and should for sure be listed. Good luck

Just because schools receive anywhere from 2000 to 4000 applications a cycle, doesn't mean they don't have the free time to verify EVERYTHING posted in your application.

This includes (but not limited to):
-shadowing hours (yes they will contact every dentist / doctor / whatever)
-Extracurricular hours (yep)
-Volunteering hours AND how well you performed (yes, they have this much free time)
-and finally, they'll call each of your professors to confirm the "correctness" of the LORs

They do not actually check them, he is trolling. However, have contact info prepared for your dentists. Some schools, such as UK, ask for signatures from your dental shadowing.
