Hello I am planning to apply to DO schools this year, I have noticed several Osteopathic schools have satellite campuses. Lecom, PCOM, Touro, Midwestern U, and AT Still have satellite campuses in different regions of the nation. Will it hurt my application if I apply to the satellite campuses of these schools? I heard you need to have very specific explanations as to why you want to attend a particular campus and that some programs are slightly different.

You can apply to any of their sister schools and the main school if you want. They have their own admissions staff. No need to worry about that. I don't think the main campuses even see your application. Good luck.

Despite sharing a common name, consider schools like LECOM-erie and LECOM-bradenton completely separate school. The only one that is the same (for now), is LECOM-seton hill, which is still a part of LECOM-erie

You will need specific explanations for any school you apply to but I do agree that a handful of schools are looking for a specific type of student. (see ATSU-SOMA)

Satellite campuses rock! They often use the same essay prompts, which means you can duplicate the essays about YOU. However, you should DEFINITELY be very specific/unique for the ones asking "Why are you applying here?" because those need to be tailored to each school/campus. You need to do a good amount of research on each school to sincerely write why you're applying to them. THOSE ESSAYS ARE VERY IMPORTANT.
