I was just thinking about this. At one of my interviews (Vanderbilt) I was told that secondaries are not read until the committee meets post-interview. At my other interviews that were open-file, I got the impression the the secondary was not included in the file the interviewer saw. Does anyone know if secondaries are usually read before or only read after an interview?

For example, maybe the secondary questions like, "Why our school?" are only used as tie-breakers after interviews have been completed...

Probably depends on the school, and maybe even when in the application process they are reading your application.
