Hey fellow Step 1 test-takers--

I came across this awesome, free resource that offers an audio version of publicly available, official USMLE Step 1 practice questions.

I often felt guilty to take study breaks to eat, workout, or even drive a restaurant/gym, and this is definitely the best resource I've found that has made these times productive! It is also great to give your eyes a rest, and I've used this to study while winding down before I go to bed.

I literally laughed out loud at this comment..getting some weird looks from people around me

It's not a good idea, sorry to say. When your reviewing clues and concepts from your practice questions, you should be able to visually connect it to your reading source, whether it's physically writing it in your book or picturing the connection in your head. That's how application of the material works. Also the best way to visualize connections is by closing your eyes for a moment (at least for me) and seeing it in your mind's eye. That would be a disaster while driving.

If your listening to content, that's different because your learning material to build your foundation (ala Goljan tapes, etc)

If your feeling guilty during your study breaks, your not studying properly. You should have a quota of reading material/practice questions that you aim to finish everyday; once it is done, you should have guilt free relaxation for the rest of the day. You should be in a rhythm when you study. Breaks are to cool off to prevent your head from getting too thick and getting a mini-recharge for the next material you are going to do.

Hahaha... I'm truly enjoying this thread. Gave me a good break from studies and I didn't feel guilty at all about it ;P

Study strategy and habits are incredibly subjective, and not as black-and-white as you make them out to be.

True. At least what I wrote above works for me and a couple other students I know. Maybe a better way of saying it is that studying is an art form. Different for different people, but you get better at it the more you practice.
