Do the subrankings for prelim and trans year go in the same area?

Applying into anesthesia and was wondering if I rank the advanced programs first, will the prelim and trans year programs go into the same subrank list or are they different? Thanks!

For each advanced program, you need to submit a supplemental rank order list of prelim programs. This can be a combination of prelim and TY programs. You can alter the supplemental list for each advanced program as well, to fit your needs/desires. For safety purposes, many applicants also put prelims/TYs at the bottom of their primary ROL.

For example, your ROL can look something like this:

1 Categorical A

2 Advanced program A
1 TY A
2 prelim A
3 TY B
4 prelim B
3 Catgorical program B

4 Advanced program B
1 TY B
2 prelim B
3 TY A
4 prelim A
5 Advanced program C
1 TY A
2 TY B
3 prelim A
4 prelim B
6 TY A

7 TY B

8 prelim A

9 prelim B
