I am just wondering how many of you guys here continue to contact the programs that you like after you have interviewed with them. Of course writing the PD and all of the people who played a part in your interview is a given.

But what I mean is....do you call and email the faculty and residents you interviewed and interacted with to maintain the appearance that you are very interested in there program?

It seems like a lot of work to call them and email them and remember(well i write it down) who you asked what so you don't ask the same person the same question again. And try to contact 3 or 4 of the people at that one singleprogram and than repeat this again for the other programs.

I've done a little of this. Just wondering how many of the other applicants do this? And does it really help you out when they consider how to rank you?

I have emailed the PD at 2 different programs, emailed the secretary at 4 different programs.
Of course, I also sent thank you notes.
I was going on a second look this next week and had told a program so, it wasn't officially arranged yet. Now I can't go because I had to schedule another interview.

I sent thank you e-mails to PD/chair and most of the people who interviewed me at my number 1 program. They responded with nice replies. I would like to continue to contact them but really can't think of any questions or reason why I need to e-mail to them. But I don't want them to forget me either....so I am not sure what I should do. 😕

Maybe some of those Amazon e-cards with little puppies and kitties that say "Thinking of you..." :meanie:

Seriously though, I don't think this is an issue we should be stressing about. They've got you on the list, you've got them on the list.. it's all good.

I would think that endlessly contacting them would get annoying. They met you, they read your thank you note, they don't need a ton of phone calls from every applicant. If you are ranking them first or highly, then send a note before the match list is due telling them that. Is anything else really necessary?

My plan is to send the PD at each of my top three choices a quick e-mail after my interviews are finished, to reiterate my interest before we submit & they submit the match lists.

Dats it, though.
