Do u regret not taking the 0-6 pharmD program after high school rather than choosing the 2+4 or 4+4 path and having to worry about PCAT's a high gpa and admissions to graduate schools?

No way. I wouldn't trade my four years of college for anything. Further, taking three years after college to work has taught me more about the working world and myself than any formal education could have.

I totally agree, working in the real world after 4 years of college has helped me in more ways than I could imagine. In fact, I think students who enter pharmacy school with only 2 years are less prepared than those with some experience.

I'm not quite sure. In one way I wish that I had chosen pharmacy straight out of hs and spend less money, less headache, etc... BUT I don't think I would've been prepared for it if I went straight from hs. College has taught me a lot about time management, being studious, and i've really learnt a lot. I am working on current research in melanoma and my major (molecular bio & biochem) has really prepared me for the lab work. Thats something I don't think I would've learned if I went straight into pharmacy.

I too am also glad that I recieved my bachelors and now have worked for (4 years) a while before applying to a PharmD program. However, I think you need to do what is best for you. (p.s. - I think many people that did the traditional route and then work for a while you'll find are now trying to jump in to the 3 year acclerated pharmD programs rather than the 4 year. seems ironic, huh...as they are the one's telling you to take your time, myself included🙂 So take everyone's advice for what it is ---advice.) Do what is best for you!

If I could do it over I would go to the 6 year program.

But honestly.. I don't "regret" it because I never would have known where I was headed had it not been for my undergrad experience.

I don't regret it at all. Undergrad was the best time of my life. and like polarbear said, it's a time to find out where you are going, and you find out a lot of things about yourself.

But i agree too that I would have liked to know I was going into this direction from the start, I could have saved myself a lot of time and money, and have gotten better grades too.

Good Luck, Cheers
