Do undergrad poster presentations and oral presentations count as ERAS publications down the road?

I’ve seen that any presentation made as a med student definitely will count, but what about a poster presentation or oral presentation at a regional conference during one’s undergrad years?

edit: also the presentations would probably not be found on pubmed, but this is likely the case for med students presenting posters as well.

Yes. Most college ECs are temporary, but presentations/publications stay forever.

Wow, so theoretically, even a school-exclusive poster presentation that many of the mods here think so little of could count?

Edit: is the ERAS pub number even meaningful as specialty averages then? I feel like it’s just an inflated construct of residency readiness, and residency programs would likely scrutinize the items listed rather than look at the number and move on

You might like to see a copy of the ERAS worksheet here: https://aamc-orange.global.ssl.fast...f53-986f-7545f5c5adc0/eras_2018_worksheet.pdf

It breaks down entries into

- Peer Reviewed Journal Articles/Abstracts
- Peer Reviewed Journal Articles/Abstracts (Other than Published)
- Peer Reviewed Book Chapter
- Scientific Monograph
- Other Articles
-Poster Presentation
-Oral Presentation
-Peer Reviewed Online Publication
-Non Peer Reviewed Online Publication

There is no "rule" you can't include undergrad achievements, but you should probably ask yourself if including it adds to your candidacy for the specialty to which you plan to apply.
