Sometimes I like to browse med schools websites and post-bac programs and they post student profiles with photos...I haven't yet seen any AA or Latino matriculants to the programs with the "names" and most linkages to MD schools.
I did, however, just almost die of shock to see someone I went to my private high school with (White ORM) quoted with a photo on Scripp's post-bacc program's website. Apparently she went to GW's School of MD class of 2015. Good for her.
Does anyone know why it seems as though URMs don't attend these programs? Honestly, from what they suggest in their admissions profile/requirements, my stats, GRE, ACT/SAT scores, and GPA are fine.
My only concern would be finances, but loans are the American way...
I don't think I'd want to do a URM-focused post-bacc program like MedPrep because it doesn't have linkages and it's a 2 year program.
Anyone know of any students of color who attended a prestigious post-bacc?
