Any advice on which one to choose. I am at a cross road of an acceptance to TUCOM. I have already to placed a deposit and found an apt. at OCPM. Any advice?

go D.O., they are the same as M.D...medicine is medicine no matter what two letters come after your name...DPM is good too if you wanna focus below the knee...best wishes and i wish i was in your shoes, i'm applying now to MD and DO schools

stupid question

should I go M.D., J.D, or M.S.N.?

If you would like to graduate with options and the potential to earn more, go D.O.

I was accepted to Medical School, but I was also accepted to the local community college nurse assistant program. Both are good programs, and I am torn which one I should go to. Somebody please help me.

I know that you already have your apartment where the podiatric school is but I'm sure you can get out of it if you want. That should be the least of your concerns.

DO and DPM are not the same thing. You have to decide what you want to do for the rest of your life. There was a time that I thought I would just become a podiatrist. I even applied and was accepted into every school I applied to. But I had to step back and look at what I wanted in life. I had always wanted to become a doctor...this I knew. Would I be happy working on feet for the rest of my life? My honest answer was no.

What is your answer?

man you think that dude has a problem. I have an even bigger one. I was offered acceptance to Harvard MD/PhD program, but also a chance to work as an EMT at my local hospital. Please let me know what you guys think. 😉

Dont condemn other professions - Everybody gets upset when DO's are looked at as inferiors to MD's so don't do it to other occupatins.

The problem with DPMs is that they are finding that more and more of their 'traditional' business is being handled by regular docs (GPs, Orthopeds).

Hence, many DPMs are struggling to keep solvent, and are having to work ridiculous hours just to make ends meet.

Contrast this with the 'average' DO who has more business than s/he can handle. I tried getting an appt. with some DOs in my area...no luck, all had too many pts as it was.

No kidding! If August was asking a legit question, lay off the profession-bashing. Patients benefit best by a cooperative community of health care and allied health care providers.

I don't think anybody was condeming DPM's. We were just pointing out that compared to D.O.'s they are very unrelated, Asking for advice like that is like asking "what should I do with my life". There is no comparison. When somebody askes if they should go M.D. or D.O. I can see that because those are comparable professions, but DPM's are very different and specialized. See our point?
