I don't think this would exclude you at all! In fact, you could shape it into a compelling argument for how you can uniquely contribute to the school. If you are unsure about this, I would call and check.

The OP is an American citizen. There are some regulations about Palestinian citizens attending Israeli universities, but even this is possible if certain criteria are met. This is kind of a silly thing to argue about, the OP should just call if s/he is interested.
