Do you have to send notifications to other schools that you have been accepted to but are not planning to attend? do you have to send them a letter or email or something before January 15th?

I think your application gets automatically withdrawn, but it's courteous to let the schools know that you don't want your spot and that you have chosen to go somewhere else. Just email them, takes 2 seconds.

agree with anatty. i've called all my schools...some have been able to do it over the phone. some wanted an email. it took like 1 minute per school and i think they really appreciate it. and DEF withdraw from schools you haven't gotten interviews at

why is this necessary??? i don't see the point of doing this...

^^ If you already know where you are going, withdraw from schools who haven't contacted you so they don't waste their time reviewing and re-reviewing your app etc. That is, if you don't want to be considered for 2nd and 3rd round interviews.

i think just so they have written documentation.
