after taking the achiever and topscore practice tests, i have noticed that there are several questions regarding obscure names of phylums and classes...how many of these types of Q's are on the actual DAT? i know the common ones, but names such as phylum Rhizopoda or class turbellaria....

i think this is a must. even in destroyer it says you must know all the classification including subphylum and examples of each.

Unfortunately, knowing the classes is a must. A few questions are bound to pop up about it. Arthropods, etc. Cnidarians (spelling?), jellyfish, all those guys...

Yeah, this stuff is not too bad. However, I wondering, do we have to know like the ones asked in Topscore, like Ascaris, tubatrix, and all those millions of weird names? I'm guessing those are the ones that are scaring people. Thanks again & good luck with studies

Yes!!! This is super high yield for the DAT.

Destroyer, Achiever, Cliffs AP biology will prepare you well.

I would suggest you know all of the phyla of each kingdom, and the basics of each.

Even Rhizopoda.

I would also suggest you know the classes of each phylum in Kingdom Animalia.

The only trouble I have is differentiating what each of the phyla in Kingdom Protista represent. They are animal-like, fungus-like, and even algae-like.
