I was wondering if W's count against your GPA when applying to AACOMS?
My GPA is ~3.6 , but I have several W's. The most recent will be ~7 years old upon application and the oldest will be 25 years old. I have no problem addressing these with adcoms, but want to have the chance. My application will otherwise be pretty competitive(depending on MCAT on being very competitive) and feel confident on gaining acceptance.

NEIN!

I have a few and it didn't matter. In fact, I was never asked about them. The "W" thing may be another premed myth.

Thank you. I see you got in. Where? Congrats!!!!

I have three W's on my transcripts and they have never been brought up in my interviews. So don't worry!!!

Like jkdmed said, just a myth!

How about 7 Ws? Thats what I've got! Dont ask... I wasnt a premed at the time and was shooting for a different basket (a kiddy one).

I had two or three W's. Nobody ever asked about them.

W's don't count, and retakes completely REPLACE the previous grade in osteopath admissions. My sister had 9 retakes. Her real GPA was around 2.1, but with her retakes she moved it up to 2.9. Definitely doesn't hurt to drop or retake if you're applying osteopath.
