Do you feel like once you get an interview your other stats do not matter as much?

For example, after you get an interview do you feel like you are on an even playing field as the other applicants since you have your foot in the door? Or do you feel that your things such as grades and GRE still play a big role?

I listened to a webinar for Bellarmine and they said that once you receive an interview they consider everyone on an even playing field. For them GPA and GRE determined whether or not you receive an interview and after that they are more focused on how you graded during the interview. It may be different for other schools, but this seemed logical to me.

Both situations can occur. The two places I've interviewed thus far ranks candidates with their respective point systems. So GPA, GRE, References, Interview scores, etc... are factored in a formula and then that number is used to rank you. So for example, if your GPA is low, but they still invited you, you must have a phenomenal interview score or so to be offered a spot. So yes, for some programs, you'll be at a disadvantage if one of your "numbers" are low going into the interview. hope that helps

I think your numbers still matter post interview but they are balanced with the other components. Whereas I feel like getting an interview is only about numbers. I think the important thing to remember is if you get an interview the school is already ok with your numbers in some way. You deserve to be at that interview as much as the person next to you.
