Do you get a "boost" if you are a URM but are not disadvantaged?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yeah I was missing the URM threads again. They always seem to fade after the application season.

Here's to hoping this doesn't take a turn for the worst.

OP, :welcome:

Not much of one. If you're not disadvantaged, you're expected to perform better than someone who is disadvantaged. The boost comes from the fact that you're probably competing for a relatively larger number of seats due to fewer applicants in your demographic.

Be honest for goodness' sake, sheesh.

This should be the easiest part of the app.

You have had, and will continue to have, life experiences that differ from those who are not URM. You have not had the experiences that disadvantaged applicants have had.

Your application will be reviewed taking your life experiences into account and considering what you bring to the table to add to the diversity of experiences of the incoming class.

Yeah, funny that. Whenever people get worried about how they stack up against others they look for anything as an excuse to cushion their fall if they fail miserably or aren't doing so well. Humans are so predictable.
