Do you get paid more on your ADT if you are married?

(I just got married and want to know if I should distract myself now for going through the process of finding a recruiter etc. to take care of this)

Yes you get paid more, and go see the Recruiter 800-872-2769 ext 183. You need to update the DA form 5960 and provide that with a copy of the marriage license to the HPSP office.

You should be able to fix this at your local DEERS office. Google it, take the certificate and your wife. You can get her an ID at the same time. That assumes you already have an ID

The difference is BAH with dependants instead of w/out. The amount depends on the location.

DON'T DO IT FOR THE MONEY!

Wait... we're talking about getting married and not the HPSP Scholarship.

Oh, well... the advice still stands.

I've seen this happen with the junior enlisted crowd. Get married in order to move out of the barracks and off base and get BAH with dependents. Then that extra pay can go to a Mustang financed at 22%.

22% if they are lucky! :meanie:

It's always funny to me to see that the nicest cars are usually driven by the single junior enlisted. I have at least 3 corpsman that are driving new model mustangs and camaros and I am still driving a beater. The concept of getting married for more money didn't work out very well for me. That extra 100 dollars a month is about all I have for myself at the end of the month once the bills are paid.
