Do you get technique-based conceptual questions on the Step?

This is silly, but for Step 1, do you get conceptual questions on the background knowledge info for histo (i.e.- stuff on stains, etc..), radiology (how xrays, CTs are generated etc..), EKGs etc...I guess what I'm getting at is, like with anything visual, at the end of the day, do you need to know any serious in-depth background stuff of the how these leads generate this response etc,...and the backgrounds of each leads etc... or how an x-ray, CT, is generated? I think you get my gist.

I've seen questions on stains (i.e. more along the lines of describing a staining procedures without telling you what exactly it is and then asking you a question about a bug or something, or asking you to identify what is actually being stained by a particular solution (i.e. PAS staining, or gram staining, etc.). They also sometimes go over molecular biology lab techniques of course (PCR, ELISAs, Coombs test, etc.) to test whether you know how they work.
