Question from a pre-optometry student.
Do you get to work with human bodies in optometry school (a dead person's eye, etc.)?

At nova we use cadavers, bulls eyes, brains and spinal cords for gross/head and neck anatomy and neuro. In ocular anatomy next semester we may get to use human eyes, but I'm not 100% certain.

I used cadavers at UAB. Not all schools use them, though.

We have cadavers at UHCO.

We do have a cadaver here at SCCO, but it's only covered very briefly and only very few structures are reviewed on it. Also in ocular anatomy you get to see a human eyeball as well.

NECO uses human cadavers.
