Over the past few weeks I've noticed that I personally try to avoid using it around other premeds, and really only on my laptop (as opposed to one of the library's computers). I don't know what it is I just think I'd feel weird if someone else knew I was looking things up/posting on here (although infrequently), and I'd end up getting in some ******* conversation about stats or schools with someone I don't really like. My question is, does anyone else do this, secretly sdn?

I'm only thinking about this because I've become addicted, and right now had to check sdn on a public comp because I forgot my laptop. If any Vanderbilt people want to blow my anonymity cover I'm in stevenson.

I use it in the public all the time. All the time.

I don't carry my laptop very many places. I live in Tacoma WA, and take public trans through hilltop. For those who know what I'm talking about, probably agree that I am making the right decision.

Plus I don't like to advertise my pre-med status.

I whip it out whenever and wherever.

Oh yeah!

Anywhere, Anytime, Anything with an internet connection...hehe

Never. I avoid pre-meds on purpose at my school. You never know who's lurking around.

I've gone on SDN in public before at one of the various kiosks around campus. I think I'd be less likely to go on SDN around other premeds though.

One time at school I saw that the last site visited in the library was SDN. I actually told the librarian because the computers are not supposed to remember websites for privacy issues.

It has so much more to do with hating the typical premed social scene though, than saying something I wouldn't in person. I'm pretty direct and dont weasel around the internet saying things I'm scared to irl, I use this site mainly to get information.

I just cant deal with premeds who seem incapable of talking about anything else, for example the girls who sat behind me in organic last year and actually spoke about things like why type of paper they liked most (college ruled? OMG STOP I LOVE THAT TOO! wide ruled sucks), and when that got old would only talk about their research. Yes we all want to be doctors blah blah blah but when I'm not actively working on getting into med school I'd rather focus on other things. I have no problem telling people to shut up when they start talking gpa with me when I'm out, as infrequently as I'm able to make it there I want to be able to enjoy it.

You mean you actually have a life. That's weird.

lol dude. i sense a problem here.
they arent talking to u. so chill.

No, I never do SDN in "public".
I, like some others, keep my pre-med status to myself. I'm just kind of private that way.

I like to use SDN on my Blackberry in public. Reasonably private, and very portable.

Because this forum just screams premed from a distance 🙄 You're a weird kind of high brow.

I didn't realize there were so many covert pre-meds. They could be anywhere...

the premed is probably NOT the guy in blue.
Oh no, he's a pre-med. He got great dating advice from other pre-meds on the internet and managed to lay down a bunt single.

I've logged on from a school computer but I'm on alert so if anyone tries to sneak up on me and see my alias. 😏

Hmmm...I didn't realize it until a few weeks ago. I try not to visit SDN in public, but when I do, I noticed that I switch windows when someone walks behind me.
Not only that, but I also used a 4 letter screen name that is apart from all the other screen names and nick names that people give me.
