Or, just putting it out there, we could not push everyone to (a) share information about themselves that they don't want to, and (b) reduce themselves to a set of numbers?

IMO, asking other people for their stats, outside of say a WAMC thread where it's needed, crosses some boundaries. People can choose to share if they want to, and also should not feel they need to share.

Also IMO, I think people already reduce their applications to numbers too much, when that's not the most important part of it. As someone who sees a lot of students apply, I find stats relatively non-predictive of student success compared to the other parts of their application.

You make good points! I don't think people should feel pressured to share their scores and I'll edit my original post. It would just be nice to circumvent the inevitable comments asking/replying about these numbers. I appreciate your insight and I think the culture/discourse around applications could definitely improve.
